Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry’s adult ESOL students and their tutors present eleven backpacks filled with survival supplies they collected for students in Haiti to Donna Paine (L front row) and Diane Fornari (R front row) who established "PROJECT HAITI CHILDREN’S BACKPACKS."

The backpack project is a community wide effort to fill 200 backpacks for children at an orphanage and school in Bon Repos, Haiti. The LVL ESOL students attend Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry’s evening program held at St. Francis By The Sea church on Hilton Head Island.

Contributions included pens, paper, pencil, notebooks, underwear, sox, toothpaste, toothbrushes and soap.
