On Monday, April 4, 2011, Literacy Volunteers was awarded funds from the Heritage Classic Foundation as part of a grant it wrote to the Verizon Foundation!

Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry a Double Winner at Beaufort Regional Chamber Civitas Awards!
LVL won the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce 2010 Civitas Award for Outstanding Nonprofit Organization. Corina Altamirano, LVL's Hilton Head Learning Center Program Assistant, won the 2010 Civitas Award for Employee of the Year. The awards dinner was held at the Beaufort Holiday Inn and Suites on Thursday, June 24th.
